P.E NATION X EARTH DAY 2021

P.E NATION x EARTH DAY

As a clothing company founded in Bondi in 2016, a vibrant coastal suburb set just seven kilometres away from Sydney CBD - an endlessly hustling urban hub - we have always been acutely aware of the contrast between nature and industry, and the ways in which human activity has vastly impacted the delicate systems our planet relies on for survival.

We know the effects the textile trade has on our home, but over the last five years we have also been discovering and adapting to new and gentler ways of manufacturing, shipping and producing to help restore balance and secure a better future. Our entire team is keenly passionate about doing everything we can to achieve a completely circular approach to our collections.

The focus of Earth Day 2021 is ‘Restore Our Earth’. At P.E Nation, we’re genuinely committed to finding gentler ways to continue offering sustainable wardrobe solutions that are better for people and kinder to the planet. Our progress is significant – in the 2019-20 financial year, 34 per cent of our collections were sustainable. This financial year, almost 75 per cent of our SKUs are eco-friendly.

In Celebration of Earth Day

Today’s 29-piece launch is the second release in our Work It, Downtown collection. We’re proud that more than 60 per cent of these styles are made using sustainable fabrications and qualify as part of Our Conscious Nation – our ongoing commitment to becoming a 100% sustainable brand.

The collective pause of the past year that fell across the globe created space for all people to realise what’s truly important. It helped imprint the need for every one of us to take a conscious and considered approach to how we move forward as a global collective, and how we return to business and everyday life.

As we gradually re-emerge, it’s upon us all to do what we can to create a new and improved normal. For our part, it’s our mission to continue to create a universal wardrobe solution that’s fit for all. To do what we can to increase our sustainability offering from 72% of our collections to 100% of our products. To tread more delicately on the earth, our collective home, where everything we know and love exists.

P.E Nation Sustainability Edit

When you shop on our site, you have the option to explore the Sustainability Edit exclusively, making conscious shopping easier for our customers to navigate. Visit the Sustainability Edit here, a tab on our site that is continually updated with all designs featuring recycled materials, regenerated fabrications, or cut from organic yarn.

Our Commitment to Circular Fashion

We have come so far in our first five years - switching to eco-friendly fabrications and packaging solutions, and contributing to environmental and community initiatives and programs:

Today, 90 per cent of our Active fabrics are made from recycled and regenerated materials.

100 per cent of the cotton we use across our collections is organic.

All polybags our collections are shipped in are compostable.

We are partnered with The Better Packaging Co, so our products are shipped to you from our warehouse in compostable parcels.

We are proud partners of Thread Together, who provide brand-new clothing to women, children and men in the community who are doing it tough, regularly donating clothes to their fulfilment centres, as well as organising volunteering days at their centres as a team.

We work with i=Change, and $1 of every order on pe-nation.com goes to one of three charities. Thanks to our customers, our collective impact is powerful, and our latest report from i=Change is encouraging proof of this. From October to December 2020 we supported initiatives for Bushfire Relief, Thread Together and Restore The Reef to:

- positively impact 141,308 people

- remove 482.6 tonnes of sediment from the Great Barrier Reef

- store almost 393.6 tonnes of carbon, and

- remove 2,822.4kg of plastic from the sea.
