Spiritual Newness

A New Year is full of anticipation, hope, and usually a slew of messages that extol the “New Year, New You” mantra. Granted, becoming plant based, being a conscious consumer, saying ‘no’ to booze for a stint and investing in a new exercise regime are all good things (hold fast to optimism, they’re on our list!), but 2020 is the start of a whole new decade - we’re not turning over a new page here friends, we’re changing books - and we need a New Year’s solution to match.

According to numerology, 2020 is a year 4 (2 + 2 = 4), which represents a cycle of vision, management, priority, limitation, restriction, determination, effort, and then…breakthrough. So if you’re ready to set new priorities and strive towards a specific long-term goal, then 2020 is the year to do it. It’s a year to dig in, to get planting, to focus on how things work, and then to make them work.

Naturally, with output, there must also be input and if you’re working hard, you’re going to need a health reset. Fight stress with meditation, Pilates and alternative therapies; stay active with those types of exercises that fill your cup; and after the harvest, expect to reap the rewards. With harmony and mutual cooperation, your work and health climate will be great, but stay the course and remember, when you change your pattern of behaviour, you wind up changing what you desire and it gets easy to stay on track.

Here at P.E, we’ve always lived, worked and played by the adage that ‘teamwork makes the dream work’. The foundation of our business is grounded in co-operation, connection and expansion and for us the ultimate symbol for 2020 is the olive tree. Not only is it a symbol of peace, it’s a symbol of partnership, friendship, longevity and growth. It thrives in areas that other plants ordinarily wouldn’t. It’s hardy. It can withstand stress and it has the ability to grow well and produce nutritious fruits. As we look to the year – and decade – ahead, what lofty dreams are you going to turn into concrete realities, and what symbol will define your goals?

Perhaps in the spirit of embracing our high-spirited, remarkable, imperfect selves, we should make 2020 less about grand resolutions, and more about a belief in ourselves. Here’s to our New Year’s Evolution!
